Nurturing personal spiritual growth and providing effective tools for evangelization
During this time of quarantine, Cursillo of Me encourages you to visit faith building media such as:
EWTN and Relevant Radio
ZOOM Ultreya, Group Reunion and School of Servant Leaders meetings are available. Links are available by Chat request.
Need help on how to hold a group reunion by telephone or Zoom? Other questions? Fill in your contact information and question in "Let's Chat". Be specific, I have been getting strange requests that just say "Sweden" or other words that have nothing to do with Cursillo. I have not responded to them.
Maine Cursillo is a group of committed Catholic Christians, that are driven by a single goal; to do our part in making Christ present in our everyday lives and thereby making the world a better place for all. Our decision making process is informed by the gospel message and led by the Holy Spirit. We strive to build loving friendships and make a positive impact with all of our pursuits. The Secretariat is responsible for serving anyone interested in Cursillo. Click button below for contact information. We want to hear from YOU!

EXPERIENCE CURSILLO WEEKEND AT CAMP MECHUWANA, WINTHROP, ME
Immerse Yourself in Christian Community
Ask anyone that has experienced a Three Day Cursillo and you will hear that it is life changing. This weekend is for anyone that wants a deeper personal relationship with Brother Jesus, your Brothers and Sisters in Christ and His Holy Catholic Church. You will leave with a deeper appreciation for the Sacraments and greater trust in His plan for your life.
OUTREACH - PUTTING THE GOSPEL INTO ACTION
To Love God is to Love Our Neightbor
The Cursillo Method of Evangelization teaches us to "Bloom where we are planted". In our homes, work places, social gatherings as well as in our church, we are called to service. Cursillo can help deepen your faith resulting in more fulfilling ministry to others. Christ calls and Cursillistas respond: loving those closest to us, those in easy reach and sometimes to new places, such as service for the love of God and neighbor in other ministries in Maine such as Kairos Prison Ministry.

A Short Course in Christianity
At Maine Cursillo, we are dedicated to making Three Day Cursillo Weekends available for all Catholics seeking a closer relationship with Jesus and His Church. This weekend provides an opportunity for transformation and growth. The weekend is experienced separately by men and women. A weekend is scheduled as soon as five applications are received. Interested people are invited to submit their application (link below) and participate in group reunion and Ultreya to build friendships. Currently weekends are held at Camp Mechuwana. See camp information below.
GROUP REUNION and ULTREYA
Faith Sharing Small Group Gatherings
Weekly local small group sharing groups are the backbone of Cursillo. In our small group reunions we develop close friendships as we learn daily spiritual exercises that renew our spirits and draw us closer to Christ. Click below to see an example of group reunion format.
SCHOOL OF SERVANT LEADERS
Orienting Our Lives To Christ
The School of Servant Leaders is the Service Arm of Cursillo, but we are also a growing group of friends from around the state. Ideally all leaders of Ultreya, groups and weekends are active in SoSL. Don't let the name scare you away: this is a group open to all Cursillistas that want to grow spiritually and value Cursillo. Currently we gather at St. Charles Boromeo in Brunswick (see map at bottom of this page). If you only come once you will meet the Secretariat and learn about Cursillo in Maine. We want to meet you and do not require further attendance, though we will invite! We are certain you will feel it was a good use of your valuable time.
Cursillo Builds the Church
Catholics that experience a 3 Day Cursillo (short course in Christianity) and continue to use the Cursillo method (group reunion and Ultreya) are evangelized. Through catechesis, self examination and experiencing the Sacraments together we grow in love for Jesus, His Church and our brothers and sisters. The liturgy becomes fresh and inspiring. Serving in ministries appears attractive and doable in a new way. Our minds become open to the vision of living the gospel.
Deacon Mark Tuttle is the Spiritual Director of Cursillo of Maine. He is a gift: leading us to we follow our Brother Christ more authentically and using the Cursillo Method to evangelize. Join us at the School of Servant Leaders where Deacon Mark helps us explore the Sunday Gospel, The Catechism of the Church and Cursillo literature.
"I invite all Christians, everywhere, at this very moment, to a renewed personal encounter with Jesus Christ, or at least an openness to letting him encounter them; I ask all of you to do this unfailingly each day. No one should think that this invitation is not meant for him or her, since “no one is excluded from the joy brought by the Lord”. The Lord does not disappoint those who take this risk; whenever we take a step towards Jesus, we come to realize that he is already there, waiting for us with open arms."
Pope Francis in Evangelii Gaudium
2013 apostolic exhortation
